Book Review: Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult

Before I begin my review, I must admit that I am a little biased because Jodi Picoult is my favorite author. That being said, this book was absolutely phenomenal.

Review: Jenna was 3 years old when her mother, Alice, went missing. Alice worked in an elephant sanctuary studying post traumatic stress and elephants. One night she was found unconscious a mile away from the dead body of one of her coworkers; she was taken to the hospital and later vanished. Ten years later, Jenna is determined to find out what happened to her mom. She enlists the help of Serenity, a once famous psychic who had fallen from standing, and Virgil, a former cop turned private detective who had worked on her mothers case. Together they set out to find the truth about what happened that night, and the truth is unlike anything they had imagined.

My thoughts: This book was absolutely amazing. I love the way Picoult tells the story from the perspective of multiple characters instead of just one. The four main perspectives in this book are Jenna, Alice, Serenity, and Virgil. I think they are all brilliant characters who tie the story together so neatly. I was so engrossed in this book that when the shoe finally dropped and what happened was revealed I had to go back and read it again to make sure I understood correctly. I was just so unprepared for what actually happened.

In conclusion, this book was amazing and I highly recommend picking up a copy.
