Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins; 391 pages

The games are never over with the Capitol. Katniss and Peeta have made it out of the arena but now they must set off on a victory tour through the districts, districts that saw their actions as a sign of rebellion. With trouble brewing, the 75th Hunger Games is announced. It’s a Quarter Quell year which means a twist in the games, a twist that may just cost Katniss and Peeta their lives.

I love this book so much. It is probably my favorite book in the trilogy. I know some people think the beginning is boring and slow because of the victory tour but I love it. It sets the scene perfectly for what is going on with Katniss and Peeta and sets the tone for the rest of the story. If it wasn’t included the book would be missing something, in my opinion.

And don’t even get me started on the arena. It is such a brilliant idea! I love the way it’s set up and there’s different traps depending on which section your in at which time. It was so good! Plus, getting to meet all the former victors was pretty sweet as well. You would have to wonder how these people who survive the games turn out and you get a pretty good look in this book. They all find their own ways to cope with what has happened to them.

All in all, this is a fantastic book and this series is amazing.

  1. This was the only Hunger Games movie that I saw and can you believe that I cried during the whole deal? Hahaha! It was a bit close to home at the time, all Katniss sacrifices and all. I hope the books are good, I’m planning to read them next year πŸ™‚
