This weeks book recommendation is going to be one of my favorite standalone books.
Looking for Alaska by John Green has been one of my favorite books for almost five years now. It was recommended to me by a friend and it was the first John Green book I ever read. I also think it was the best John Green book I ever read. How could I say that right? So many people say The Fault in Our Stars is the best John Green book but out of the five books John Green has written that I’ve read, TFIOS isn’t even top two.
There’s just something about the story of Alaska, Pudge, and the Colonel that I just loved. I was really able to connect with the characters in this story, better than a lot of the books I have read. Especially Alaska. She just made me think, of myself, of life, of how we take for granted so much. This book made me feel something like no other book had done before it.
I love John Green’s writing. He has the ability to connect with the reader in his beautiful and meaningful words.
This book means a lot to me and if you haven’t read it I highly recommend it. There’s just something about it that made it stick with me all these years.
