Step on a Crack by James Patterson

Step on a Crack (Michael Bennett #1) by James Patterson; 373 pages

Michael Bennett is a detective in the NYPD’s Homocide division. He has 10 adopted children and a wife who is dying from cancer. With everything going on, life only gets more difficult when Bennett gets a call about a hostage situation. It’s the day of the former First Lady’s funeral. After all of the celebrities and politicians filed into the church, the service was hijacked and these high profile people are being held hostage.

Great story. Great characters. Great book. By far my favorite Patterson series to date. It was just as good reading it the second time around.
