Eadlyn is the future queen of Illea. The caste system has been abolished but there is unrest in the country, some people can’t break old habits. In an attempt to calm the people, they host a Selection, something Eadlyn isn’t overly thrilled about.
At first I really liked Eadlyn. She was Steph and funny and she reminded me a lot of America. But as the book went on and her stubbornness grew, I started to see her in a different light. She is so determined to have the Selection fail that she is becoming cold and cruel towards the men and her family. She only thinks of herself as a future queen and she thinks she is showing weakness if she falls in love. She makes herself seem like a robot. I think the way the book ended will really change things for Eadlyn in the next book and I’m excited to see what happens!
