Beautiful Book Friday is a little weekly post that I’m doing to feature a book with a beautiful cover or a book whose content is beautiful. This is all opinion based so let’s have fun with it! Feel free to join in if you want to!
This weeks book is…..
Josie Moraine is the daughter of a well known French Quarter prostitute. But Josie wants nothing to do with that life, she wants out of the Big Easy. Caught up in a dream about going to an elite college out east, Josie’s world comes crashing in around her when a wealthy tourist mysteriously dies in the Quarter.
Cover or Content:
Both! I adore the cover of this book and the book itself was absolutely amazing! Don’t believe me? Here’s a quote to help:
“I leapt eagerly into books. The characters’ lives were so much more interesting than the lonely heartbeat of my own.”
I had such high expectations going into this book. Her first book was so amazingly good, I wasn’t sure if this book could compare but it certainly did. You can’t help but feel for Josie as the story progresses. She’s this sweet, determined, hard working girl who is determined to get out from under the shadow her mother has cast. She wants to go somewhere where no one will know who she is so she can get a fresh start. I loved it being set in New Orleans because it added so min culture to the story. All around it was a great read, a story that will make you feel something.
Rating (content and cover): 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Recommendation: Read it!!
